However, they stay close to their mothers at all times. One of the young sloths stumbled and fell, but a guide helped it back into its mother’s lap, ensuring that the mother did not become agitated and that the young sloth was not injured. Although it may have appeared that the mother sloth was grateful, it’s important to remember that sloths are wild animals and may use their arms to defend themselves or warn others to stay away.
